Most people who want to find something online go straight to Google. When searching for something online, if you can’t find what you want in the first few pages of Google, how many of you go elsewhere. Probably not many, but that’s not to say that if Google can’t give you what you want another search engine can’t either. Would you be able to tell you weren’t using Google?Ok, so you’ve just performed a search for something you’re looking for. Let’s say you were presented with two sets of organic results from two different search engines, completely unbranded. You’d regularly click the results from the search engine that gave you the most accurate or relevant results. What if the results showed that you didn’t always click results from Google?
Well, Hakia has come up with nobrandsearch.com – a blind test of search engines. It takes results from Google, Yahoo, Bing and it’s own Hakia and delivers them unbranded to see which results people prefer. Search Engine Watch goes into more detail on this and is well worth a read and even a test.
What did you find on nobrandsearch.com? Did you click Google every time?
