When it comes to making your web site visible online, how do you accomplish your ends? Do you submit your site to the search engines and cross your fingers? Do you pay for ads through places like google adsense? Do you spread information around town through flyers and word of mouth? While these might be effective on some small scale for your company, they are not the only marketing strategies for online companies. Search engine optimized content draws the search engine robots like a magnet, making your site rank higher in searches and drawing potential customers into your site.

When it comes to this search engine optimized (SEO) content, however, there are two factors that are both vital and often overlooked. These concepts are those of time and budget. What good does increased revenue do if you are paying through the nose for it? What good does a single article do you if it is allowed to grow stale and uninteresting for the modern consumer? Time and budget must be spent carefully.

Time is something that people often overlook as a valuable asset. Your time is worth a great deal, and wasting it is like burning money. If you spend three hours writing online content that a professional writer could do in an hour or less, then you have wasted the money that your time is worth. If your time is worth more than the nine dollars that you might be charged for the article (and keep in mind that this is a high price for excellent content) then hire out the writer and spend your time on other things.

Timing is also important when it comes to placing your content and replacing it. Your content should be updated AT LEAST once a month, and preferably more often than that. It should also be relevant to current issues or concerns, either in the world or with your product or service in general. Changing the information offered without significant changes to the layout of your site will bring consumers back again and again.

Budgeting for online expenses is also overlooked, either to the point that money is overspent or to the point that no money is spent at all. SEO content is not terribly expensive, but not having it could turn out to be a costly mistake indeed. Overspending should be watched for, but you should be spending something.

Watch yourself online and see how you manage your web site. If you hope to be successful, then spending time and money on SEO content is one of the stops along the path. Remember, though, to spend both time and money wisely.
